HomeRead a 10-Q
A 10-Q updates the quarter. It does not close the year.
Companies file a 10-Q for the first three fiscal quarters. The SEC hub states the usual split: the 10-Q carries interim financials and management discussion, and it is usually unaudited. The 10-K is the audited annual report. Do not read a quarterly update as if the auditors had signed the year.
- Interim numbers
- Compare the quarter with the same quarter a year earlier and with the year-to-date columns. A single quarter can include a one-time item. The financials hub says to watch restatements and one-time items before you treat one period as the run rate.
- Management discussion
- The prose explains what changed: demand, costs, liquidity, and known trends. Lician's statement tables do not reproduce that narrative. If you need the discussion, open the filing.
- Where Lician stops
- The SEC filings hub is the door to cached forms. The earnings calendar lists upcoming report dates. A date on that calendar is not the 10-Q. Lician does not guarantee a 10-Q is cached for every name, and this guide is not investment advice.
