HomeFiling desk versus quote

A quote tells you the tape. A filing tells you what the company reported.

Quote page

The quote hub says a quote summarizes the latest traded price and related market data, and that the print can be real-time or delayed depending on the source. A company quote page reads the stored snapshot. When the fields exist, that includes last price, day change, volume, open, previous close, the day's high and low, and market cap. Missing fields stay missing. Last price is not the previous close, and after-hours prints can differ from the official close. A quote is not a decision by itself.

Filing desk

The SEC filings hub is where cached 10-Ks, 10-Qs, and 8-Ks are listed, with an EDGAR link when the filing card has one. That desk does not show the session tape. The quote page does not show the exhibit. Use the 8-K guide when the event is a current report and financials when you want the cached statements.

Lician does not guarantee the snapshot is a live exchange print, and it does not guarantee a filing is cached. Neither page is investment advice. For a job-by-job look at other research products, the comparison hub is the research tool hub.
